“Happiness is a choice and it is the best decision to take”. (Dr.Taika)
In the previous article Wellness vs Happiness, we described happiness as life contentment and satisfaction; it is all about positive pleasant feelings and emotions in daily life.
We will develop four essentials steps toward happiness.
1. Have yourself as your best friend.
1. Have yourself as your best friend.
Friendship includes mutual affection, support, and trust between two people. Having a best friend is having someone that you can trust, lay on, someone who understands you, listens to you, and who is there for you anytime and vice versa.
In this life of disappointment, hypocrisies, and selfishness, there is one best friend you should count on at 100% is yourself. Of course, you can have people that you love and you don’t want to lose because they are so loving and precious to you. But if you could consider yourself as the first one to talk, make a plan with, have fun with, have time for, you would not need too much from others to approve everything related to your life, you would be stronger and you would discover your potential.
Being someone's best friend is a privilege, this person will always talk to you after listening to others before taking any decision, and he/she is someone who you value above other friends. Imagine you taking time for a best friend to give him/her advice like a team working for success, you would forgive yourself and have the courage to move forward quickly; you would be more compassionate to yourself and able to handle situations around you.
2. Stay positive no matter what is happening around you.
When the time of need comes, we tend to lay on someone that would tell us that everything is going to be ok. This positive person is inside of each of us, but we only choose to be such a positive person to others, even though we know or even have the proof that is not true. We just want our best friend to be calm and patient.
Of course, a positive mind can change diagnostics, humor and it can give time to find a solution to problems, in the end, produces light in dark situations.
We better be the first positive person for ourselves, so we can flourish, and inspire peace in the middle of difficulties.
3. Be yourself all the time.
We live in an era, where everybody is looking for validation from others even if it is about very personal habits. When we don’t wait for someone to tell us, we stuck with social media or psychological marketing to influence what only us know where our own pleasure is.
Sometimes, we even want to compare our lives to others and think that we should do the same. Honestly, I know that could come from the family we were raised in. But it is time to know that everybody has his own journey on earth. We should not try to be or to do what others do, because your life has its own good purpose which we should protect and achieve.
Society creates some patterns to let us think what we should be or do, to be a successful person in life. Some people call those patterns success, others call them blessings without knowing that some of us would be happier if we don’t follow or don’t have those kinds of blessings. Because something could be a blessing for you but not for others, or we can just have different kinds of blessings.
We should know that we become successful when we achieve what we were created to be. There is no better satisfaction when we do or have exactly what is in our lives purpose.
If you don’t like makeup, don’t do it. It is just because you have more self-esteem than others who don’t feel comfortable with their natural look. Don’t go to the gym to be like people on TV, but you can choose to exercise just for your health.
If you want to be at peace with yourself, choose to be yourself, accept yourself as you are.
4. Believe in your creator.
As human beings, we have the capacity to think, analyze, and go beyond what we can see. This is a gift that we have to realize that we are not only flesh and we are mysterious beings on a specific planet.
Even those of us who claim not to believe in something spiritual that can connect with our spirit, they use their spirit to get this idea, and sometimes they question life or their origin.
We have the potential to use our spirit to talk to our maker, the creator. It is important to a human being to be in contact with the creator because He knows the purpose of His creation and He can communicate with us controlling and guiding our spirit to what we are created for.
If we maintain contact with our creator and believe in ourselves we will be successful, because every idea will come from Him.
